Acton Community Forum is delighted to be working in partnership with Ealing Council and West Acton Residents Association to bring life to the North Acton Pavilion, which has been closed for several years.

The Pavilion is desperately in need of activities to serve the local neighbourhood and research is currently underway identifying what residents would like to see available. So far, a wide range of activities and interests have been identified including those focusing on health & well-being, arts & crafts, sports, IT, recreational and social activities.

There is keen interest for opportunities for people of all ages including for parent & toddler sessions, play scheme, youth project, adult and older peoples activities, as well as sessions for families across the generations.

Acton Community Forum has taken on the Pavilion and we are developing a programme of activities based on these identified interests.

We are also keen to work with local community organisations in delivering these activities.

On that note, we are asking those that are interested in running sessions from the Pavilion to provide us with an expression of interest, outlining the project including aims, target audience, duration and number of sessions planned. We expect to begin with taster sessions to gauge interest and uptake, with a view to developing these into self-sustaining projects charging a nominal contribution from participants to cover venue and staff costs.

The final refurbishment of the Pavilion is currently underway and we expect the work to be completed by April soon to be followed by a relaunch. This will be an opportunity for projects and participants to come together, enjoy tasters and sign up for sessions. Please let us know if and how you would be interested in getting involved.

Untitled Document North Acton Pavilion has been out of use for nearly a decade and ACF along with Funky Fruit and Salad, which runs a café in Walpole Park has been chosen by Ealing Council to give this great space back to the community and put this local resource to use. ACF held its first consultancy meeting on the 28th October with residents and a second with the West Acton Residents Association (WARA) on the 17th of November to discuss plans for the Pavilion. As a result refurbishing has already started and ACF has great plans for the Pavilion, set to open after Easter.

Responding to the outcomes on the research ACF is developing a program of activities such as:

Arts and Crafts activities

Exercise and Well being activities

Children and Youth Activities

Sport Activities

The Pavilion will also be fitted with WiFi facilities enabling all attendees to access the internet, along with new computers and other I.T equipment.

ACF is still conducting research to find out the best way to use the North Acton Pavilions resources if you would like to help please fill out the this questionnaire and return to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

North Acton Pavilion Community Funday

Saturday 6th August saw the Pavilion come alive with activity at the long awaited opening. Both the pavilion and garden were festooned with flags. Arts and sports activities ran throughout the afternoon, providing those attending with a taste of what is to come. 22 organisations are already keen to run projects from this new community facility. Organisations were in attendance to speak with people about their projects, and completed signups with interested residents. Activities will begin this week, building up over time with the aim of responding to past and ongoing consultations with local people concerning their priorities.

West Acton Residents Association, residents, Councillors and passersby enjoyed seeing the Pavilion come alive. People took part in taster sessions, and there was something for everyone to enjoy. Music filled the air and Eclipse Productions performed, giving a taste of there up-coming dance and drama sessions.

With the newly approved funds from the Acton Central Ward for IT equipment, the Pavilion will soon be offering the IT sessions as part of ACF’s UK on Line project. The demand for these sessions is great, and we look forward to sessions beginning in September.

For those interested in booking the Pavilion for private functions, details will be on the website, or call our Bookings line on 020 8993 6308 on Tuesdays or Thursdays.

For now, yoga, photography, craft, healthy walks and eldercise will kick start sessions at the Pavilion. As the programme develops we will post the timetable and news on notice boards and on our website (www.actonforum.org)
